Proceeds and purpose

The Bjørn Egge project preserves and shares his story through the book, documentary, film project and family archive. Here is how we intend to use any income from the project.

First: make the work possible

Income from books and other project activities goes first towards documented costs of publishing, film development, archive work, public education and necessary operations. Buying the book is a purchase, not a direct charitable donation.

Then: support work aligned with his legacy

The plan is for any surplus after those costs to support organisations connected with Bjørn Egge’s life and humanitarian work, and independent initiatives that carry forward the values of peace and human dignity. The Norwegian Red Cross and Hvite Busser are examples of organisations closely connected with his story. Mention here does not imply an agreement, endorsement or confirmed payment.

Signup4Peace

Signup4Peace is a separate peace initiative started by Bjørn Egge’s grandson, Didrik Martens, after Bjørn’s death. It was not an organisation Bjørn himself belonged to. We would like to explore supporting this initiative as part of the project’s purpose. Any such support will be identified separately from support for organisations Bjørn was associated with.

Transparency

There is currently no foundation or separate fund. No fixed distribution percentages, recipients or payments are being claimed here. We will publish concrete decisions and amounts when allocations have been agreed and completed, with the family connection to Signup4Peace clearly stated.
